To protect DOE special nuclear materials, classified matter, sensitive
information, and certain sensitive property against theft, diversion, or
destruction; to prevent the sabotage of programs that could result in
significant scientific or financial impact; to prevent the malevolent
release of hazardous materials including radiological, chemical, and
infectious agents or other criminal acts that would endanger employees,
the public, and the environment.
The vision of Security Operations is to continually improve in providing
the Laboratory with security services in key program areas, which are
efficient, cost effective, and serve the best interests of our customers
and stakeholders. This is accomplished with a well trained and dedicated
professional staff who strive to protect our classified information from
potential loss, or compromise that could help aid our adversaries.
