NSRL Data Library for Run 10B

 

This is the data repository for transferring data files out of NSRL.  It is organized by Run, Ion Species, Energy and Date.

 Each file begins with some header information, including the date and time the date taking began, the structure of the event record, and some comments about the beam and detector configuration. 

The event record looks llike this:

A record was also kept of the beam intensity for each spill through the experiment.  A scintillator of dimensions 1.08 cm2 was placed in the beam, upstream of the TEPC but just above and to the side of the TEPC.  This scintillator was adjusted so that the pulse height for the Fe ions was 100 mV, and discriminated at 30 mV,so it would be efficient for Fe but not counting protons or gammas.  The discriminated counts went to a scaler that was read out every spill and recorded along with a time stamp.  The file of the number of Fe ions per square centimeter (actually per 1.08 cm2) can be found here.
