NSRL Data Library for Run 11CThis is the data repository for transferring data files out of NSRL.
The file Wilkins_Fe600_2001_09_26.txt contains all of the run files taken by the Wilkins group during the NSRL Run 11C. This includes the 600 MeV/n Iron running taken on 26 September 2011. The data files consists of a time stamp taken every 4 seconds, once for each spill, and the number of scintillator counts indicating the number of Fe ions that traversed the 1 cm^2 counter in the beam. It contains information for several different exposures.
Fragmentation data were taken on 14 October 2011 using a 600 MeV/n Silicon beam, 174 MeV Gold beam October 20 2011, and 100 and 1000 MeV/n Iron beam on 22 October 2011. The data files from that run are available below. Click on the file name to download the ASCII text files. NTuples are available on request. The contents of the data files are given in the headers of each file. For example, the first file Si_600_14_10_2011_000.txt begins with the lines: #14:03:43 Oct 14 2011.......................gives the time and date
of the start of the run. The file ends with the time and date of the ending of the file, provided the run ends normally. That is followed by a repeat of the comment line.
In addition to the fragmentation data, we have a record of the beam intensity as a function of time throughout the experiment. We placed a scintillator in the beam immediately upstream of the aluminum target sheets. The scintillator is 1 square centimeter, and is observed by a 2" PMT operated to give a Silicon signal of -100 mV. This signal was discriminated at -30 mV and counted with a fast scaler. Immedately downstream of the aluminum targets we placed a larger 10 square cm scintillator operated in the same way. The scaler counts were read out and reset to zero every four seconds. These scaler counts, and their accumulated sum were written to a file, along with the time stamp every four seconds throughout the experiment. That file was converted to Excel format, and is available below.
Scalers for both the 174 MeV/n Au beam on 20-21 October 2011, and the 22 October 2011 140 MeV/n Fe beam, are listed in the file below; each on its own worksheet. For assistance with this file, contact the NSRL Liaison Physicist.
