Training Opportunities

Our group offers training opportunities in a broad area of neuroscience research, such as MRI, TMS, and aspects of human-subject research, affording the trainee the possibility of finding a position in which to develop and expand his/her skills.

Research Areas:

In our laboratory, trainees will have the option to collaborate in aspects of of our work on developing MRI for several imaging techniques ( e.g., anatomical images, fMRI, MRS), such as · Sequence development (C++) and/or data acquisition · Development and/or application in data processing: reconstructing data via IDL and SPM analysis. They also may elect to work with the TMS equipment, learning about TMS stimulation and MEP records, particularly if their interests lie in exploring non-invasive techniques for brain stimulation. In addition, we offer trainees the prospect of studying a multimodality of neuroimaging combinations, such as the TMS and fMRI techniques. We have training sessions for those who wish to focus on human-subject research by helping with · Protocol elaboration/coordination· Subject recruiting/enrollment· Application of neuropsychological exams for TMS studies.

Program Goal:

The goal of our research training program is to collaborate with the BNL-Office of Educational Program's (OEP) mission in providing educational training for undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctorate students that represents and meets the objectives and intents of new generations of scientists. For this purpose, we have available through BNL-OEP the following educational programs:

Candidates from the related fields (that is not limited to: physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science, psychology) who are interested on completing or expanding their research training in our laboratory are invited to apply by sending a CV and a summary about their work preferences to Elisabeth Caparelli. Your application will be considered according the available openings at the time of the application.
