The Long Island Solar Farm is the largest solar photovoltaic power plant in the eastern United States. Vote for it to win by 5 p.m. today!

The winner will be recognized next month at the Excellence in Renewable Energy Awards ceremony during the Renewable Energy World North America Conference & Expo in Long Beach, California.

The Long Island Solar Farm (LISF) is a 32-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant that was built through a collaboration that included BP Solar, the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), and the Department of Energy. It is currently the largest solar photovoltaic power plant in the eastern United States, generating enough renewable energy to power approximately 4,500 homes, and helping New York State meet its clean energy and carbon reduction goals. The LISF began delivering power to the LIPA grid in November 2011.
