Suffolk County Legislators Visit BNL

Suffolk County legislators from several districts across the county recently visited BNL to learn more about the Lab’s economic impact on Long Island and BNL research accomplishments and activities, especially in the field of energy research. An overview was provided on the Brookhaven Lab - Stony Brook University Smarter Grid Research, Innovation, Development, Demonstration, Deployment Center (SGRID3), and the LI STEM Hub, a new program promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to help build LI’s workforce. SGRID3 and LI STEM Hub were both winners of funding through Governor Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Councils. After the presentations, the group visited the site of the Long Island Solar Farm.
