Job Posting DetailsBack to NSLS-II Jobs | BNL Candidate Gateway - All Job Postings Project Engineer II/Project Engineer I (P-7/P-9) - As one of the lead engineers, the candidate will be responsible for the design, construction and installation of NSLS-II utility systems including secondary de-ionized water system and the RF cryo system. These are major engineering projects of significant complexity and require directing a team of staff members to ensure adherence to work scope, schedule and budget. Required qualifications: BS degree in mechanical engineering and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible work experience related to the design, procurement and installation of process water system and flow instrumentation; Comprehensive knowledge of engineering fundamentals in hydraulics, heat transfer and piping systems; considerable experience in the use of 2-D and 3-D design tools, drawing standards and engineering codes; Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with the scientific, technical and procurement staff of the project; High degree of initiative and ability to plan, coordinate and perform given assignments with minimum supervision. Preferred qualifications: Engineering and design of de-ionized water systems for accelerator facilities, cryogenic systems and transfer lines; Experience in operating process water utility plants.
