High Pressure Beamline Science Workshop

NSLS-II and COMPRES are jointly sponsoring a Workshop on High Pressure Beamline Science, to be held on April 29 (beginning at 8:30) and April 30 (ending between noon and 5:00 pm) at the NSLS in Brookhaven National Laboratory.  The intent of this workshop is to prepare a proposal for a high pressure beamline and to discuss other possible beamlines at NSLS-II with a high pressure component. The high pressure beamline is envisioned to house both diamond anvil cell and large volume high pressure apparatus in two independent end stations on a high energy superconducting wiggler port. Tentative title: 4 D studies in extreme environments (4DE2). The purpose of the workshop is to review the motivating science, the enabling technology, the beam characteristics, and to share our vision with other programs that are being developed with a high pressure component. All interested parties are invited to attend and to contribute their ideas to the agenda. We emphasize that US citizenship or a BNL gate pass are required to gain access to the NSLS.
