Technical Resources

The technical focus of the lab is carbon and nitrogen metabolism. Therefore most of the resources and techniques in the lab center on the measurement of physiological and biochemical markers for carbon and nitrogen status.  These range from the measurement of photosynthetic parameters using the LI-COR LI-6400XT Portable Photosynthesis and Fluorescence System, to high throughput analysis of metabolites and enzyme activities using liquid handling robots. 

Freezer Protection

Lesson learned from Hurricane Sandy. Our two -80°C freezers are now powered by circuits that are protected with emergency backup power generation, and are monitored by the Sensaphone 1400.
