Competitiveness Improvement Project (CIP) Office

The Competitiveness Improvement Project (CIP) was developed as part of the Blueprint Portfolio, and is the formal institutional process for continual improvement of repetitive business processes. The focus is on providing better service and value by increasing operational effectiveness and efficiency. Cross functional teams apply a systematic approach using Lean Six Sigma methodology and associated techniques to analyze problem areas and processes, and implement improvements.

To learn more about BNL’s continual improvement program, see the Program Description: Continual Improvement of Repetitive Business Processes in SBMS.

The CIP Office provides assistance to ensure the success of sponsored improvement projects. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Providing training
  • Facilitating and consulting with process improvement teams
  • Assisting with analysis
  • Developing and managing the necessary reporting tools
  • Consolidating and communicating results
