Chancellor's Award for Chuck Pancake

Chuck Pancake of Stony Brook University has received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service. Chuck did much of the design and implementation of the PHENIX drift chamber electronics, and is now playing a crucial role in the barrel silicon pixel detector project.

Kieran Boyle Receives Doctorate

Abhay Deshpande reports that Kieran Boyle has been granted his Ph.D. by Stony Brook University for his thesis "Longitudinal Double Spin Asymmetry of π0 Production in Polarized Protons at 200 GeV." He was also awarded the Lee Wilcox Prize by the President of Stony Brook University for being one of the five best doctoral research theses selected from all fields at the University.
