The future of RHIC spin and the physics of eRHIC

Summary:  
Understanding the spin structure of the nucleon is among the main goals of the physics program at RHIC and of a future polarized Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). Experimental and theoretical studies since the early 1970's have revealed surprising spin effects with both electromagnetic and hadronic probes, and many aspects of the nucleon spin remain elusive to this date. The workshop aims to discuss the scientific advances that can be made with highest RHIC polarized proton luminosities and with electromagnetic probes at a future EIC, building on the status and recent developments in the field.
