Summary:  
Modern Hands-on Physics Communication

This workshop is meant to introduce communities across the Laboratory to modern physics education and outreach developments that make science communication fun and interactive. Participants will learn about:

  • Developing weeklong courses at BNL for science educators to work and learn with scientists on site.
  • Promoting teacher and student participation in large-scale international physics experiments – from detector construction to data collection and interpretation.
  • Using videoconferencing and other cyber technologies to enable new modes of data transfer and analysis for unprecedented classroom access to large-scale experiments.
