Progress in High-p_T Physics at RHIC

If you are a Non-U.S. Citizen, you must complete a Guest Registration Form in addition to the Workshop Registration. Due to a required review process, all Non-U.S. Citizens must be registered and approved in the BNL Guest Information System (GIS) before they will be allowed access to the site. Motivation & Plans

Much has been learned from high-p_T physics after 10 years of RHIC operations for heavy-ion collisions, polarized proton collisions and d+Au collisions. This workshop will focus on recent progress in these areas by both theory and experiment. The following four primary sessions are envisioned:

• Jet physics: progress in understanding inclusive jet production and di-jet correlations from p+p to Au+Au.
• Inclusive particle production and particle correlations: includes progress on hadron, photon, lepton and W production and correlations.
• Distribution and fragmentation functions: focus on experimental inputs and recent global analyses, with emphasis on polarized parton distribution functions.
• Transverse spin: recent progress by experiment and theory from semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering to polarized proton collisions.

Presentations

Presentations will be mainly by invitation. We expect to be able to accommodate a limited number of contributed talks. If you are interested in presenting a contributed talk, please contact Les Bland at bland@bnl.gov.

Accommodations

Limited on-site housing is available which will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The event coordinator will make on-site housing reservations for all visitors according to the arrival and departure dates listed on their registration form. Visitors will be contacted by the event coordinator regarding confirmation information.

Proceedings Information for Speakers

All speakers are to submit a 6-page Proceedings Package consisting of:

• 1 cover page with name, affiliation and short summary
• 5 significant pages from your presentation

Please note the following:

•  This Proceedings Package must be submitted prior to or during the workshop: a paper copy is preferable; however, if necessary, an electronic copy may be submitted to pesposit@bnl.gov.
  
• The Proceedings are printed in black and white only…please avoid color.
