How do we see depth in a flat object? Students will discover the technology behind different 3-D glasses and learn how scientists use this technology in their experiments at BNL.

Program Benefits

Lesson Objectives

1) Observe that humans see depth because our eyes are located about 2.5 inches apart.

2) Observe that our brain can combine two images and interpret them as one, allowing us to see depth.

3) Discover the methods used in 3-D viewing to “trick” our brain into seeing depth in flat pictures.

4) Observe several images using three different methods of 3-D technology.
