Mission Statement

OEP Staff

Students will experiment, collect, and analyze data to evaluate the need for a standard unit of measurement. In groups, students will explore the differences between the metric and standard system as they complete several measurement challenges.

   wheel, standard measuring system- inches, feet, yards,
   miles, pounds, ounces, pints, fluid ounces; metric measuring
   system- centimeters, meters, kilometers, grams, kilograms,

Lesson Objectives
  
1)     Understand that different tools are used to measure different properties and be able to select the appropriate tool.
   2)     Demonstrate an understanding of different measuring systems.
