BNL Technology Transfer Ombudsman's Office - (631) 344-6185

The Ombudsman assists in the resolution of any issues and/or disputes that may arise during licensing, cooperative R&D, or use of our research facilities.

The Ombudsman's role:

• will function as an advocate for a fair process and will not take sides

• will mediate between the parties and work cooperatively with all sides to reach an equitable agreement

• is not empowered to direct a specific resolution and cannot change or set aside existing lab policies but may recommend changes when deemed necessary

• abides by the Ombudsman Association's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

Third party communications with the Ombudsman are not formally recorded and are kept in confidence to the extent appropriate. No BNL employee may request that the Ombudsman breach a confidence.
