Responsibilities

Include evaluation of technologies for patentability, marketing, and commercial potential of inventions from Biology, Chemistry, Medical, Sustainable Energy, Photon Sciences, Physics, Environmental Science, Collider Accelerator, Educational Programs, Nuclear Science and Technology, Nonproliferation and National Security, and Condensed Matter Physics and Material Science.

Experience

Prior to joining BNL, Carla was a chemistry graduate student at Stony Brook University (SBU) with a focus in chemical biology. She engaged in research focused on targeting enzymes found in biological agents that pose a severe threat to the public and national security. She gained certification through the Center for Biotechnology at SBU, which allowed her to serve as a scientific, intellectual property, and competitive landscape advisor for the evaluation of a medical device.
