A range of new fluorinated arylboron oxalate compounds for use as additives and anion receptors in lithium-based battery electrolytes have been developed. These additives increase the functionality of such battery electrolytes.
The inventive technology relates to the design, synthesis, and application of a new family of fluorinated arylboron oxalate compounds as anion complexing and SEI forming agents in non-aqueous battery electrolytes.
These additives, when used together with electrolytes, produce a battery with improved conductivity, lithium ion transference, and SEI formation over those using BBARs alone.
