Research InterestsCurrently, I am a sophmore at Colgate
University, with an intended major in Molecular Biology and minor
in Education. I hope to attend medical school upon graduation. Summer
2005 was my first experience doing research in a laboratory, during
which I worked on the behavioral portion of the obesity study. I
benefitted greatly, learning several techniques such as basic animal
care, use of locomotor activity equipment, minor surgeries, data
and graphical analysis, and the preparation, and administration
of drugs for treatment. Also, I learned what working in a laboratory
setting with several other colleagues is really like, and thoroughly
enjoyed and appreciated my experience.

One
of ten national laboratories overseen and primarily funded by the
Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Brookhaven
National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical,
and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies and
national security. Brookhaven Lab also builds and operates major
scientific facilities available to university, industry and government
researchers. Brookhaven is operated and managed for DOE’s Office
of Science by Brookhaven Science Associates, a limited-liability
company founded by Stony Brook University, the largest academic
user of Laboratory facilities, and Battelle, a nonprofit, applied
science and technology organization.
