U.S. ATLAS Budgetary Estimates

There are two budgets represented on this page - The Installation portion of the Construction Project, and the Research Program. The majority of the installation for the U.S. ATLAS deliverables was not included in the Baseline. The Installation costs that were not in the Baseline were estimated and added to the Management Contingency Priority List. For this Estimate, Installation is defined as:

INSTALLATION - The effort to physically put the deliverable into it's location in the Experiment.

The Other Estimate on this page is for the Research Program. The Estimate is divided into three Phases:

• Pre-Operations - This Phase is the non-recurring effort required before Operations begin. It includes Commissioning and all other efforts before Beam-On Operations for Data Collecting.

• Operations - This Phase is the effort performed during Beam-On Operations for Data Collecting.

• Maintenance - This Phase is the effort performed during Beam-Off periods after the Experiment is Commissioned.
