beyond our horizon
The meeting featured reports from the management of Brookhaven Laboratory, the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation. A representative from the American Physical Society gave a tutorial on how to speak to politicians and the general public about scientific issues.
In addition to this major theme, the meeting focused on the:
 | latest physics results from the RHIC & AGS experiments, |
| plans for upgrades and future experiments, and |
| recent theoretical developments. |
The diversity of projects at the RHIC & AGS was explored through posters. A prize was awarded to the best student/post-doc poster - Carla Vale from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her poster was entitled, "Elliptic flow in Au-Au Collisions with Phobos."
