Manage & Editing Roles
The event managers listed below need to have their own
Indico account.
- Conference/Meeting/Lecture Managers
(Modification Control) - Only the
managers listed in the modification control, the
creator of the meeting, and any administrators can
access the Management Area of the meeting. All users
listed in the Management Area will have full control
of the entire event. However, you can add a
Modification Key which means anyone with this key
can modify the meeting without logging in.
- Session Managers - The Session Manager
has full control of a session. However, your
Conference or Meeting Manager may request you not to
edit some parts of the session. You are given the
Session Manager rights by your Conference or Meeting
Manager.
- Session Coordinators (Default Conveners) - The Session
Coordinator is responsible for scheduling
contributions and breaks within their own session.
However, contributions must be imported by the
Session Manager or Conference Manager before they can
add them to their session.
Note: When editing session properties (see
below: Test Session 1 & 2), Indico will define session
coordinators as "default
conveners" of that session. Default conveners will
not be listed on the session block since they are
considered session administrators within the Indico system.
People defined as
"conveners" in this context should really be
considered as "chairpeople," in that they are
expected to lead the meeting or session itself and
not given (by default) admin rights to alter the
session in Indico. Conveners of a session
block will be listed on that block (see below), but
will not have any rights to schedule contributions
or breaks within their own session block.

- Contribution Managers - The Contribution
Manager is responsible for managing the information
in a contribution. Your are given contribution
management access by either the Conference or Event
Manager, Session Manager, the existing Contribution
Manager and possibly the Session Coordinator. You
can access your contribution by selecting Timetable
from the menu in the event home page and finding
your contribution. If you are the manager of that
contribution you will see a pencil button. This will
take you to your contribution management area.
Site Access Control
Indico has a two common access keys.
- Modification Key - This
allows all users to make edit to the entire event
with a common access key. Anyone with this key
can modify the meeting without logging in.
- Access Control Key -
This allows all users to view the event with a
common access key. When the meeting is public,
anyone can view the meeting including the details,
timetable, material, etc. When the meeting is
private, only those in the access list, meeting
managers, and administrators can view the meeting.
See the
online help section for more information.
