User Accessible Styles
Note: The instructions below are for
FrontPage 2000/2002/2003. Accessing these "User Accessible Styles" in
SharePoint Designer is a little different. Web Services will have this web
page updated very soon with the correct information for SharePoint Designer.
In order to maintain a consistent look and feel between BNL websites, all
fonts, colors, and other visual design elements are standardized.
This not only provides users with a consistent interface, it relieves the
content editor of graphic design tasks, allowing them to
focus on content,
the information they need to communicate to the rest of the world. For more
detailed information, see our Fonts, Colors, and
Other Formatting web page.
Things authors should not do...
- Do NOT format the text by applying different fonts or colors.
- Do NOT re-size the text using points.
- Do NOT add colored backgrounds to highlight text. Highlighted
boxes are already provided in the template using either the
Normal.boxed (yellow) or Normal.graybox
(gray) styles.
- All fonts and colors will be applied automatically when text is
typed in.
- Format text only as "normal", "headings" or bulleted lists.
(Using underline, bold or italics is permissible).
Available Styles
To access these styles when using FrontPage, click on the <style>
drop-down menu which is located in your <Formatting> toolbar. This is
depicted in the picture on the right with the highlighted down arrow in
orange. The <Formatting> drop-down menu unfortunately shows all
default styles used by FrontPage as well as BNL's standard template styles.
Since we cannot hide or remove these default styles, web authors should only
use the styles listed below which are considered the standard template "User Accessible Styles".
