Undergraduate students may submit an application by clicking the button below; the application must be completed by midnight on November 1, 2013.
To attend the conference, students must both apply and be accepted in order to register. Prospective undergraduate students may complete an application by clicking on the button below before midnight on November 1, 2013. The application will be available starting September 1, 2013. Applicants will be informed of their acceptance by the end of November. Due to limited space, we will likely not be able to accept all applicants. Once accepted, students must complete a registration form. Registration includes a $25 nonrefundable registration fee. To attend the conference, applicants must complete registration and pay the fee before December 6, 2013.
The registration fee of $25 covers a small fraction of the costs of conference, including food and lodging. Students unable to pay this fee should appeal to the American Physical Society at the time of registration to have this fee covered. Food and accommodation are provided by the conferences. Travel expenses should be paid by your home institution, but some funds may be provided for travel if needed.
Because we are only able to accommodate a limited number of participants at the conference, completion of the application form does not guarantee a seat at the conference. Priority will be given to applicants who (i) are undergraduate physics majors, (ii) have never attended a CUWiP, and (iii) are applying to attend the conference that is geographically closest to their expected location January 16-19, 2014. We also encourage you to apply early.
You may indicate on the registration form if you would like to present your research in the form of a poster presentation and/or a 10 minute talk. Although you are not required to give a presentation in order to attend the conference, we do encourage you to use this as an opportunity to present your research.Apply to Conference
