X27A Microprobe
CARS at the APS

Welcome to the X26A beamline web-page at the National Synchrotron Light Source, Brookhaven National Lab. X26A is a Synchrotron-based Hard X-Ray Microprobe at the NSLS and we're dedicated to the development and application of x-ray microbeam analytical techniques (e.g. microprobe, microspectroscopy, microdiffraction, microtomography) in geochemistry and environmental sciences. Other programs such as chemistry, biology, material science, etc. are supported through the General User program. The participating research teams (PRT's) that fund the beamline include the University of Chicago's Consortium for Advanced Radiation Sources (CARS), The University of Kentucky (College of Agriculture), and Brookhaven National Lab's Department of Environmental Sciences. This web-page is intended to provided information for existing and interested future users about beamline status, contact information, links to help users make sure they have all the necessary information and paperwork completed before arrival, and general information about the capabilities of the beamline and future upgrades. As always, if the information you seek isn't here, feel free to contact us. Thanks.
