Benefits for Employees Working Outside the United States

Medical, Dental & Vision

If you are scheduled to work outside the U.S. for 6 months or more and meet all other medical plan criteria, then you may be eligible for the Aetna International Healthcare Plan, which replaces the Aetna U.S. Medical Plan, Delta Dental Plan and EyeMed Vision Care Plan coverages.

Long Term Disability

The Long Term Disability Plan provides you with protection against complete loss of income during a long period of absence because of a disabling illness or injury.

If your regular place of work is outside the U.S. and you are a U.S. citizen, then you are enrolled in the Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) plan.

Severance Pay Plan

The Severance Pay Plan is designed to assist employees whose earnings are unexpectedly canceled by layoff due to a reduction-in-force.

Adoption Assistance

The Adoption Assistance Program provides financial assistance for certain expenses related to the adoption of a minor child.

Retirement Plan

If your regular place of work is outside the U.S. and you do not have a valid Social Security Number of Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) and would otherwise be eligible for Retirement Plan Benefits, special arrangements are used to provide a similar “benefit” after you meet the necessary age and service requirements.

If your regular place of work is outside the U.S. and you do have a Social Security Number or TIN and you are eligible for Retirement Plan Benefits, such Retirement Plan benefits will apply.

Reimbursement Accounts

The money you contribute to a Reimbursement Account is exempt from federal taxes, and most state, and social security taxes. Several types of Reimbursement Accounts are available.

401(k)

If your regular place of work is outside the U.S. and you do not have a valid Social Security Number of Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), then the 401(k) Plan is not applicable.

If your regular place of work is outside the U.S. and you do have a Social Security Number or TIN and you are eligible for 401(k) Plan Benefits, then such 401(k) Plan benefits will apply.

Life and AD&D Insurance

The Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance Plan offers Employee Basic, Employee Supplemental, Spouse Supplemental, and Dependent Child Supplemental Life Insurance as well as Employee Basic, Employee Supplemental, and Spouse Supplemental AD&D Insurance.

If your regular place of work is outside the U.S. and you are a U.S. citizen, then you are enrolled in the Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) plan.

Paid Parental Leave

Provides eligible employees with a period of paid time off for activities related to the care and well-being of their newborn or adopted child.

Travel Accident Insurance

The Travel Accident Insurance Plan provides 24-hour accident coverage while on authorized business travel.

Vacation Buy Plan

The Vacation Buy Plan allows you to purchase additional vacation time on a pre-tax basis and spread the cost of doing so over the calendar year.
