Welcome from the Chair
We are pleased to announce the 2011 Particle Accelerator Conference
(PAC’11), which is taking place in New
York City from March 28 to April 1, 2011. This conference is the latest in
the highly successful series of Particle Accelerator Conferences and also
the first regional North American PAC organized to attract accelerator
scientists, engineers, students and industrial exhibitors interested in
every aspect of the science and technology of particle accelerators.
PAC’11 is hosted by Brookhaven National Laboratory, and jointly sponsored by
the IEEE Nuclear & Plasma Sciences Society and the APS Division of Physics
of Beams. The Scientific Program Committee is developing a dynamic and
stimulating program covering all topics relevant to our community.
Our host hotel, the New York Marriott Marquis, is located in the heart of
Times Square and the Broadway theater district. It offers advanced
facilities that will provide for stimulating talks, interesting poster
sessions and productive interactions with the industrial exhibitors. We are
certain that you will enjoy your time with us in New York City.
With diverse neighborhoods citywide and a different experience waiting
around every corner, New York City offers up a feeling of energy and
excitement that is unmatched. Many of New York City’s major monuments and
attractions, including the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and
the Brooklyn Bridge, are among America’s iconic landmarks. And attractions
such as Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Carnegie Hall, and Radio City Music Hall
are all just minutes away from our conference facilities.
We look forward to meeting with you at PAC’11 in New York City.
