To be eligible to participate in ACCESS XVI, the applicant must have received a doctorate from an accredited university after September 1, 2018, or have his/her primary thesis advisor provide certification (in his/her Letter of Recommendation) that in all probability the applicant will have received her/his Ph.D. by August 31, 2021. The applicant's thesis or postdoctoral research must be in the field of atmospheric chemistry. There are no nationality requirements regarding participation.
After the application is completed, the applicant will receive an email confirmation with instructions and a link for the applicant to send to the person writing the Letter of Recommendation (only one Letter of Recommendation is allowed). The Letter of Recommendation must be submitted by March 31, 2021 on official letterhead. It is recommended that the applicant plan accordingly and remind the person writing the letter of this date.
For current graduate students, this letter must be written by the student’s primary thesis advisor, and this person should certify in his/her recommendation letter that in all probability the applicant will have received a Ph.D. by August 31, 2021. For an applicant who has already been awarded a Ph.D., the letter should be written by his/her current supervisor, unless the applicant has only recently moved to his/her current position (in which case the letter can be from the applicant's primary thesis advisor).
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that he/she has permission to attend ACCESS XVI and the Gordon Research Conference in Atmospheric Chemistry if selected to participate in ACCESS.
All applications must be submitted online by March 31, 2021. All applicants will receive notification of acceptance in early May 2021.
