NIST Campus Tour

Founded in 1901, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is a non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST's mission is to promote U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.

Tour information

  1. The NIST tour bus will depart the Germantown (GTN) campus at 1:00 PM and return to GTN at 4:00 PM.
  2. The number of tour participants is limited to 42.
  3. The tour group will be split into two separate groups at NIST to expedite the tour process.
  4. Participants must register online or at the venue for the tour, by July 25, 2014 to participate.

The tour will include a visit to the NIST Center for Neutron Research (Bldg 235) and the National Nanotechnology User Facility (Bldg 216). Additional information will be provided as needed, so participants will need to check the website periodically.
