Reservations, Cancellations & Rules for Participation
  • Paid reservations are required for all trips listed below. They can be made at the BERA Store located in Berkner (Bldg 488), Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm.
  • All tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and are for those 21 years and older unless accompanied by BNL employee/parent.
  • BERA may limit the number of tickets per person during the first week of sales.
  • BERA trips are a BNL benefit and tickets are for BNL employees, those with guest appointments, and their families only.

    If you can make the new date, you don't have to do anything. If you cannot make the new date, please go to the BERA Store and they will refund your money. The return ferry time has changed as well.

    Join BERA and the Port Jeff Ferry and Hampton Jitney on their weekly trip to Foxwoods!  Make your $40pp paid reservation at the BERA Store. This includes meeting the group at 8:30am for the 9am Ferry, return trip bus, free buffet or $10 lunch voucher, and $15 slot play. We will depart Foxwoods at 6:30pm 5:45pm to catch the 8:30pm 8:00pm ferry home. 21 and over only! Photo ID required! Please note: no transportation is provided to the Port Jeff Ferry, but Port Jeff Village parking is free from Dec thru March.
    Helen will purchase the tickets on the ferry and hand them out to everyone in the lounge area.

    Depart Brookhaven Center 3:30pm, complete dinner at the world famous SYLVIA’S Restaurant, Amateur Show starts at 7:30pm, depart afterwards 9:45 pm or so for home. $85 pp includes tips, luxury coach, dinner, & show! Amateur Night at the Apollo is hosted by the comedian Capone. Each show begins with a festive pre-party featuring video and music by DJ Jess. And keep a lookout for master impressionist C.P. Lacey, the resident Executioner who sweeps bad talent off the stage. Don’t wait outside before the show! Join us at the Apollo Pre-Show Bar. Bar opens at 5:30 PM.

    Join BERA in seeing the famous biopic musical "Beautiful" The Carole King Story at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre for the 2pm Matinee. TICKETS FOR THIS BROADWAY BLITZ MUST BE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE BY FRIDAY, FEB 12!!!  Cost of $110 will include a discount train ticket from Ronkonkoma to NY Penn Station as well as the show ticket. We will take the train since the theatre is close to Penn Station at 124 W. 43rd St & Broadway & 6th. (11 short blocks and 1 block over). There is no transportation included to the Ronkonkoma train station or to the Theatre. See attached for train details. Depart Ronkonkoma train station on the 10:05am train. Arrive 11:30am in time for lunch or browsing, making your way to the theatre by 1:45pm. The show is 2 hours 20 mins with 1 intermission.     Take the LIRR Train into NYC for a Do As You Please day. Some folks are taking advantage of the train and attending the Broadway Show "Beautiful" (see trip above). The round trip tickets are $12 per person and you MUST purchase your ticket no later than noon the Thursday before the trip at the BERA Store (M-F, 9a-3p). See attached for train details.

    The 2016 Flower Show will honor our treasured national parks with acres of themed and floral displays, breathtaking imagery, and heart-pounding adventure experiences to expose the vast beauty of our national parks to you – our audiences from around the world. There are acres of gardens, thousands of artistic floral and horticultural displays, more than 180 shops in the Marketplace, live entertainment, interactive exhibits, a Make & Take workshop, and gardening and culinary demonstrations throughout the day.
    *We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes to explore the 10 acres of colorful floral displays*

    NOTE: Food is available at the Flower Show throughout the Pennsylvania Convention Center. There are Snack Bars at the rear of the main exhibit hall, and full dining services located on Level 3 above the exhibition halls in the Overlook Café (a nice place to take a rest, too). You will also find numerous restaurants in the area immediately surrounding the Convention Center, including Reading Terminal Market (Philadelphia’s historic farmers market) an exhilarating selection of baked goods, Amish specialties, meats, poultry, seafood, produce, flowers, ethnic foods, cookware and eclectic restaurants are interspersed throughout the Market. There are also several restaurants in nearby Chinatown.

    Brooklyn Nets vs Cavaliers - Coach bus will leave Brookhaven Center at 4:30pm for a 7:30pm game at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn. Cost is $100 per person. Seating is in Section 215 Row 3 Seats 1-26 and Row 4 Seats 1-24. Depart after the game at about 10:30pm. Barclays Center Seating Chart

    Sat & Sun, April 23 & 24, 2016

    BERA will once again do an overnight trip to Newport, Rhode Island, home of beautiful mansions, the Cliff Walk, and a picturesque seaside village with many shops and restaurants. The trip includes an overnight at the beautiful Viking hotel in downtown Newport, a tour of Rough Point (the Doris Duke mansion) and a City Trolley Tour. This also includes deluxe motor coach and ferry crossing. The cost per person based on two in a room is $220.00 per person, triple price is $185.00 and four in a room is $165.00 per person. The single cost is $340.00. The bus will depart Saturday at 6:00am from the Lab to take a 7:00am ferry from Port Jefferson. We will do an 11:00am tour of Rough Point and then lunch downtown on own. Check into hotel at 2:30pm and then you are free for the remainder of the day and night. The next morning we will do a 10:00am Viking Trolley Tour (check out of hotel at 9:30am) and then you have the rest of the afternoon until the bus departs downtown at 3:30pm to take the 7:00pm ferry home from Bridgeport . All meals will be on your own.
