Upton, NY -- The U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory will present a concert featuring the Raphael Trio on Tuesday, August 26, at 8:30 p.m. in the Laboratory's Berkner Hall. The concert is open to the public and admission is charged.
The Raphael Trio made its critically acclaimed debut at Carnegie Hall in 1975. In the same year, the chamber music group won the Concert Artists Guild Award, and they have since performed extensively in the U.S. and Europe. The trio consists of Charles Castleman, violinist; Susan Salm, cellist; and Daniel Epstein, pianist.
The program for the concert includes Franz Schubert's Piano Trio in E-flat Major, "Notturno," Op. Post. 148; Ranier Bischof's Trio 89 For the Raphael Trio (Variations on "La Marseillaise" in commemoration of the bicentennial of the French Revolution); Ludwig van Beethoven's Variations on "Ich bin der Schneider Kakadu" in G Major, Op. 121a; and Franz Schubert's Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Op. 100.
Tickets may be purchased at the door on the evening of the performance. No seats are reserved, so early arrival assures the best seats. Tickets cost $15 general admission, and $10 for students and seniors.
