Tour National Synchrotron Light Sources (NSLS) I & II. Upon its completion, NSLS II will be one of the world's most advanced light sources - a giant X-ray microscope. Visit NSLS I, and learn how it sheds light on everything from batteries to viruses. Obtain bus tickets after attending an overview in Berkner Hall Room B; last facility visits begin at 3 p.m.

Velocity up; pressure down! Experience the Bernoulli Principle in action, or, make your hair stand on end with our Van de Graaff generator at our hands-on science demonstrations in the Berkner Hall Lobby every 1/2 hour.

Something New! BERA Bonanza!
Beginning at 11 a.m., members from BERA (Brookhaven Employee Recreation Association) and their families will entertain visitors and add to the Summer Sunday fun by sharing their interests and showcasing their talents, demonstrating the Lab’s wealth of cultural diversity.

Science Education Center parking lot
The “Cycletrons,” the Lab’s motorcycle enthusiasts and the Antique and Classic Motoring Club will have their vehicles on display.

  • 11:30 a.m. - Alternative rock performance by Chris Lake and Friends
  • 12:00 p.m. - Progressive rock performance by Calico Galaxy
  • 1:00 p.m. - Michael White’s “Down a Fourth” Jazz Band
  • 2:00 p.m. - George Bostick and his Guitar Blues Band
  • 3:00 p.m. - Jam session finale!
