Nicholas D'Imperio

computer scientist 

Nicholas D'Imperio is the Chair of the Computational Science Laboratory at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) which is tasked with the development, optimization and porting of scientific codes to both conventional and Department of Energy Leadership Class High Performance Computing resources. He joined the computational staff at BNL in 2000 as a physics associate tasked with developing highly parallel, scalable, data intensive computer simulations of particle accelerators. During his time at BNL, his roles have included group lead for New York Blue, the number 5 in the Top 500 list of the World's Fastest Computers (in June 2007), and group lead of the HPC Code Center where he led development efforts on a wide range of scientific codes. Nicholas D'Imperio has been involved with Comscope since its inception working primarily on porting codes to High Performance Computing architectures.
