Vaccination Requirements

For BSA Staff

All Brookhaven Lab/Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) staff who did not apply for an exemption must now be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to create a safe work environment for our coworkers, guests, and users. To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have received your final vaccine dose (i.e. your second shot for the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, first and only shot for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) and had your status validated by the Lab’s Occupational Medicine Clinic. Details (VPN required)

For Laboratory Guests

The Lab remains in Phase 2 of its Resumption of Operations Plan and continues to operate in a limited access mode. All guests with scheduled time at a Brookhaven National Laboratory user facility are required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of exemption from the vaccine requirement from your home institution. Those with proof of exemption are also required to provide proof of weekly COVID-19 testing while on site. This is a requirement under Brookhaven Science Associates’ prime contract. Details

Daily Pre-entry Screening

As the Lab resumes operations, all employees scheduled to come to work on site must complete a daily pre-entry screening to determine if they may have been exposed to COVID-19. All staff and guests will be asked to check their temperature and review a set of health-related questions on a printed card before leaving home.

Face Coverings

Everyone on the Brookhaven Lab site—regardless of vaccination status—must wear a face covering and socially distance in all public and work areas within campus buildings.

Return-to-Site Training

COVID-19 "return-to-site" training must be completed by all staff, users, contractors and guests before they begin work on site. A second COVID-19 training module for managers/supervisors must be completed by anyone who oversees staff before beginning work on site.

Remote Work

To maintain productivity during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lab has expanded its Flexible Work Arrangement policies. Employees have access to a list of remote work IT resources that will help them work from an off-site location.

Time Card Reporting

Two new time-reporting codes were developed for the emergency operating period and should be used as appropriate when filling out your time card. No-VPN and no-internet scenarios are covered.
