Every year, ecological and wildlife research is conducted to assist in understanding how the natural
environment works. The information gained from these projects is used to make management decisions at
the Laboratory. Many of these projects are conducted with the assistance of interns.
Interns are high school or undergraduate students participating in the BNL's Office of Education summer programs.
During 10 weeks, the students conduct experiments, population surveys, ecological monitoring, and other natural
