Thursday, November 14, 2024, 12:00 pm — Videoconference / Virtual Event (see link below)
Lecture: Building a quantum computing platform requires a delicate balance of precise control to perform operations accurately while shielding the system from unwanted noise to preserve long qubit lifetimes. Additionally, hardware-efficient gate schemes and algorithms are essential for enabling useful computations and mitigating the inevitable errors in these systems. In the first part of the talk, we will explore the strategies employed by the SQMS Center to develop a quantum processing architecture using 3D superconducting radio-frequency cavities. This design is aimed at significantly enhancing coherence times and enabling transformative control schemes centered on bosonic encoding.
