General Information

I am not getting any confirmations back in email and/or on the web, why?

You should see a "Thank You" web page displayed after you have completed ALL mandatory form fields and after pressing the "Submit Form" button at the bottom left of either the Visitor or Event Notification Forms.

  • Click here to view a screen capture of the "Thank You" web page

If you get an "Error" page instead, then stop and follow all directions before proceedings. Users may get the following error pages depending on the type of issue.

  1. Form Validation Error - Required data is missing or incorrect. Users should review all errors and go back to the online form and check their information.
  2. Database Connection Error - The application cannot establish a connection to the database. Please notify the ITD Helpdesk (631-344-5522)
  3. Database Operational Error - The application cannot execute certain database procedures, Please notify the ITD Helpdesk (631-344-5522)
  4. CDO Email Error - The application cannot establish a connection to the mail server. Please notify the ITD Helpdesk (631-344-5522).
  5. Email Confirmation Error - Users should always contact the Main Gate (631-344-4720 or visitors@bnl.gov) to see if their form submission was received even though they did not get an email confirmation. Since your form submission is sent to two independent locations, a database as well as a mail server. Only contact the Main Gate if you see the "Thank You" web page with an "Email" warning message listed at the bottom of its web page.

If you DO NOT get an "Error or Thank You" web page after you press the "Submit Form" button and get sent back to the Main Submission Form again and again, try one of the steps below or contact the ITD Helpdesk (631-344-5522) for support.

Try clearing your browser cache:

Each time you access a file through your Web browser, the browser caches (stores) it. In this way, the files (including any images on the page) do not have to be retrieved from the remote Web site each time you click the Back or Forward buttons. You should periodically clear the cache to allow your browser to function more efficiently and work correctly, because cached files can at times stop web pages from working they way they were designed.

Try eliminating spyware:

If clearing your cache does not help, try scanning and eliminating spyware from your computer. Microsoft and Ad-Aware offers a software program that has the ability to comprehensively scan your memory, registry, hard, removable and optical drives for known datamining, aggressive advertising, and tracking components.
