On behalf of the organizers, thank you for your interest in sponsoring the 2017 GPU Hackathon at Brookhaven National Laboratory! We have received an overwhelmingly large number of applications, and we are seeking sponsors to help us admit as many teams as possible.
This Hackathon will bring together researchers, students, and software developers from academia, government and industry to learn how to program the latest and next-generation many-core architectures in high performance computing. Teams spend five days together in a coding sprint, from morning to well into the night, with experts from academia and industry who donate their time to mentor these teams. The goal is to make significant progress in their scientific applications and improve their abilities to run on next-generation high performance computing systems.
The Hackathon is structured to maximize time with their expert mentors, so in-room meals and coffee can avoid costly time away from their computers. Another added benefit is many academic advisors are willing to fund travel for their students because of the subsidized meal costs. Events such as these help train the next generation of HPC professionals alongside experts in their field. Something as simple as meals and coffee can add back up to 8 hours of developer time.
Therefore, we are seeking funds to provide coffee breaks, lunch and dinner for the Hackathon participants. Currently we offer the following sponsorship opportunities:
