Precision Engineering and Nanopositioning Team

Precision engineering, nanopositioning and nanometrology are the essential key elements of the NSLS-II integrative systems engineering approach for mission-oriented R&D, as complex instrumentation, nanoscale motion, sensing, control, positional and angular stabilities often determine ultimate performance of the cutting-edge x-ray optical elements. The goal of the program is to develop and support state-of-the-art x-ray microscopy capabilities at NSLS-II, expand precision engineering, nanopositioning and nanometrology R&D to enable broad range of mission-critical capabilities at NSLS-II, provide mechanical metrology services to already existing and emerging beamlines in order to enhance and optimize their performance.
