Call (860) 443-5281 to make ferry reservations from New London to orient Point. The schedules are available at Long Island Ferry web site. There is also a ferry from Port Jefferson to Bridgeport CT.
For people traveling from Boston to the Ferry there is a handy Excel spreadsheet with a detailed highway exit by exit travel time. Precise to within 5 minutes. Very useful for planning the trip and monitoring progress.
Connections are occasionally possible between the New London ferry, Amtrak to Boston, and a Suffolk County bus S92.
