SURVEY BREAKDOWN



1) Open Temporary Enclosure

	1) Remove black curtain on +Z,inner side of magnet
	2) Remove all black tape used to seal inner and outer
	   spectrometer and octagon backsides on the -Z side.
	3) Remove all enclosure panels on the magnet, this includes
	   the extension for the +1Z Ring counter.
	   The temporary window attached to the extension and the
	   beampipe protection should also be removed.
	4) Remove black plastic window on -Z side of octagon.

2) Setting up floor control for Spect/Oct survey

	1) Getting all survey equipment into the area
	2) Determining the most convenient positions of
	   the guns.
	3) Setting up the guns (up to a maximum of eight) and
	   interfacing them to the computer.
	4) Determining the local coordinate system and tieing
	   all the guns into that coordinate system.

3) Survey Inner spectrometer

	1) Shooting all paste-on targets on the Carbon fiber plate.
	2) Shooting as many paste-on targets on the frames.
	3) Possibly shooting some points on the outer modules.
	4) Analyzing results and reshooting if necessary.

4) Survey Outer Spectrometer Arm 

        1) Shooting all paste-on targets on the Carbon fiber plate.
        2) Shooting visible paste-on targets on the frames.
        3) Possibly shooting some points on the outer modules.
        4) Analyzing results and reshooting if necessary.

5) Survey Octagon

	1) Shooting survey thorns on front of the frame.
	2) Shooting survey thorns on back of the frame.
	3) Shooting visible paste-on targets on the frame.
	4) Analyzing results and reshooting if necessary.

6) Setting up floor control for Rings survey

	1) Determining the most convenient positions of
	   the guns.
	2) Setting up the guns (up to a maximum of eight) and
	   interfacing them to the computer.
	3) Determining the local coordinate system and tieing
	   all the guns into that coordinate system.

7) Survey Rings

	1) Shooting paste-on targets on visible Ring counters.
	2) Analyzing results and reshooting if necessary.
	3) Moving around of survey transits to other positions
	4) Tieing in of moved transits in local coordinate system.
	5) Repeat steps 1 to 4 until finished

8) Reinstall enclosure.

        - Final closing of the enclosure around the magnet and ring
          counters
        1) Install enclosure panels on all sides of magnet
           including extension of +1Z Ring.
        2) Install Al-mylar windows around the beampipe on
           +Z and -Z side.
        3) Tape off enclosure to get it air and light tight.
        4) Install Al-mylar windows for Ring counters.
        5) Install black curtains to keep light of emergency
           lights from hitting the Al-mylar panels on the
           magnet directly.
