NOTE: The following FRONT view is updated to show changes in the right side of the house, the TOP view is slightly older.

There is now a new rack layout based on using several of the nice rack units generously provided by Rochester. The top view shows the spacing of the racks and the locations in relation to the door, windows, straight shot cable tray through the back wall, etc. The plan is for all cables to come up through the floor underneath the racks.

A somewhat kludgy front view shows a proposal for what will be included in each rack. Although we now have more racks, each one is slightly smaller but we still have significant room for expansion.

OLDER MATERIAL FOLLOWS:

The locations of the racks and electronics bins inside the tunnel are shown as red and light blue rectangles in the drawing. There are currently the following bins and racks:

• FEC bins (blue)- There are two of these right behind each spectrometer arm. There is one of these right behind and below the octagon (possibly divided into two pieces on either side of the beam line).
• Ring bins - FEC bins for ring counters.  Number and location unknown.
• Trigger/DMU rack (red)- Located next to each paddle counter is a rack holding one NIM and one Camac crate for the trigger electronics. The one on the side were the spectrometer/octagon concrete blocks are will also hold a VME crate for DMU's. The location of this rack is a tradeoff between allowing access to the spectrometer electronics and allowing emergency egress under the beam pipe (a safety requirement). It still undecided if the rack on the other side will also hold DMU's.
• TOF disc (red)- There is a Camac crate under each TOF wall which holds discriminators.
• TOF trig - The location of NIM bin(s?) for TOF trigger electronics is undecided.

There are two proposed versions of the rack layout for the counting house, one with larger gaps at the ends and in the middle and another with equal spaces between all the racks. Anyone have a preference? The first one will be used unless someone has a good reason to use something different. These racks will hold (from left to right):

• TOF/Trigger HV (with room for upgrades) and Slow controls VME crate
• DAQ VME crates(s?)
• TOF/Trigger Fastbus (with room for upgrades)
• Trigger NIM bins (and VME?)
• Future upgrades
• RHIC controls, ZCAL HV, and network patch panel
