T0 Module Drawings


These drawings show the areas of the proposed added T0 modules. All are in color Postscript.

The first set are for a location inside the paddle counter:

The first drawing shows a top view of the region of interest. To be provocative, I've shown a a proposal of counters 6 cm in diameter, 11 cm from the beam line, mounted inside the paddle counter. The black box is shown for scale (50x50 cm).

The second drawing is a perspective view from the nominal interaction point, showing that the counter (the large green circles on the outside) are perhaps a bit too close to the beam pipe since they may shadow the last ring counter and/or the Cherenkov counters. This shadowing gets worse as the interaction point moves away from Z=0. At a distance of 15 cm from the beamline, the last ring counter is not shadowed even for a interaction at Z=-40 cm although the Cherenkov is still shadowed slightly.

The second set are for a counter near the Cherenkov detector.  The T0 counters are 60 mm diam and centered 70 mm from the beam.  They are 200mm long.  The front face of the detector is 5150 mm from the IP.

The first drawing shows a top view of the region of interest. Note that the ring counter enclosure is also shown here..

The second drawing is a perspective view from 600mm away from the nominal interaction point, showing that the counter (the large green circles on the outside) are probably OK as far as shadowing the Cherenkov is concerned.  However, these counters are only a few mm outside the beam pipe.
