These drawings show the areas of the proposed added octagon modules. All are in color Postscript.
The first drawing shows a top view of the region of interest. Octagon modules 6, 7, 8 span (roughly) Z=-43 to 43 to 128 to 213 mm. The electronics are at the +Z end, shown schematically by red rectangles. I didn't have the exact size, what is shown is 1 cm long in Z. The light blue boxes just above the red electronics show the rib locations. Only the rib at +Z is needed for each module. The mounting bracket, screws, etc are also located there.
The second drawing is an end view of the octagon and frames. The ribs, shown approximately by rough red rectangles, are at the same height as the Spectrometer Si. Although these produce significant shadowing, I don't think they add any new interference problems. The electronics is also not a problem. However, we need to look carefully at the cable routing.
