Information on the PHOBOS Silicon Detector Calibration

(H.P. 8/31/98)

The present calibration scheme for the Phobos silicon detector is based on charge injection into the preamplifier circuit. The charge is injected by a calibration capacitor to which a voltage step is applied. The calibration is based on a SIP board which delivers high precision calibration signals from the FEC to the Phobos hybrids.

The first prototype was successfully tested during august and will be produced by Erich Griesmayer, Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt, Austria.

The prototype board has been implemented in the stringtest setup and is now used for tests and calibration of hybrids and modules.

Design and test results of the calibration board are available as writeup and transparencies ( Calibration.doc , Transparencies of Erich's presentation at MIT-8/28/98)
