Transport of Octagon Detector From Chemistry Building to the Counting House

 

Request:

I) Setup

 

  1. No jewelry, watches, or loose sleeves.
  2. Long hair tied, shoe laces tied.
  3. Shirts tucked in properly, nothing loose in shirt pockets.
  4. Floor cleared ( from Chemistry building to the car and in tunnel)
  5. All other people should be clear from the area
  6. No passage of anyone through the area during operation or crossing area to transportation.
  7. Only 1 person will speak at a time, usually the persons leading the action or the person who is performing a certain action ( releasing handles, pin in place, etc)
  8. Whenever someone sees a problem, then this person SHOULD SAY STOP. The response of the other people will be that they freeze. Action will only proceed after the person who issued the STOP has explained and the problem is resolved.
  9. Police escort ready in parking lot
  10. Arrangements have been made with Connie that no deliveries are made in parking lot.
  11. Hallways in counting house clear.

 

II) Transport from Chemistry Building to the Counting House

 

Personnel: Alan, Birger, Mike, Rachid, Robert, Nigel

Start position in Chemistry building

  1. Assembled Octagon sitting on the table in middle of Chemistry Si-Lab
  2. Robert in the hallway
  3. Door to lab completely open and secured
  4. Door to parking lot open and secured
  5. MIT van backed up in parking lot - bubblewrap installed in center of van, rear gate open
  6. Birger and Rachid holds front handles, Alan rear handles
  7. Nigel walks in front, Mike in back
  8. Robert gives 'all clear' instruction
  9. Carriers walk through door to hallway, through hallway to parking lot and wait behind van.
  10. Robert and Nigel enter van to receive octagon
  11. Birger & Rachid hands over front end to Robert and Nigel
  12. Birger and Rachid reach under box for support
  13. Octagon is placed in cushioning material in van
  14. Robert and Nigel exits rear of van.
  15. Rachid enters van from rear, Birger through right side.
  16. Alan closes rear door from outside.
  17. Robert drives van - Alan is passenger.
  18. Mike, and Nigel drives to counting house to prepare
  19. Drive 5 mi/hour the following route: Chemistry rear lot; Cornell Avenue east; drive toward 1010 area via Brahms (counter clockwise).
  20. Van parked with rear facing east door of counting house
  21. Rachid and Birger stays in van.

 

III) Preparations in Counting House

Personnel: Nigel and Mike

  1. take the fence down from entrance stairs
  2. prop east door of counting house open
  3. prop door to conference room open
  4. remove all cars from east entrance to counting house
  5. inspect and clear passage through counting house to conference table

 

IV) Moving into counting house

Start position: Robert controls area inside counting house. Everybody else near van

  1. Robert gives all clear signal
  2. Alan open rear gate of van
  3. Rachid and Birger exits van
  4. Alan enter van through side door
  5. Nigel and Mike behind van take hold of handles, and Alan start lifting out
  6. Birger and Rachid, reach in and lift under rear of box, move away from van
  7. Alan exits van and takes over rear handles
  8. Rachid and Birger position themselves onto wooden platform
  9. Nigel and Mike hand over to Rachid and Birger and reach under box for security
  10. Carriers move forward until Alan can safely reach in over platform.
  11. Place octagon transport box onto wooden platform
  12. Alan and Mike enter platform and take rear handles, Rachid and Birger still at front handes
  13. Carriers proceed into conference room and place transport box onto table

 

  1. Ready for final testing of octagon in counting house :
