T0 Base Structure

September 12, 2002

The construction of the two base structures on which the T0 arrays will be mounted, was completed this week. On this page a few pictures of the base structures are shown. Note: the ruler next to the stands is a 1 m long ruler.

Mounted on top of each stand, a small "elevator table" is mounted that allows us to make vertical adjustments in the position of the T0 counters. Horizontal adjustments in the direction perpendicular to the beam line can be made by moving the "elevator table" as a whole (using the long screws seen in the bottom left picture). The stands is secured to the floor with 4 bolts; 2 on either side. Each stand has a mass of about 85 pounds.
