Small Business Program Mission Statement
The Brookhaven Small Business Program is designed to serve as the
advocate and point of contact for small business concerns (consisting
of small; small disadvantaged; small women owned; Small Business
Administration (SBA) certified HUB-Zone; small veteran-owned, and
small service disabled veteran-owned businesses) who are seeking
contracting opportunities at Brookhaven.
The Small Business Program's primary mission is to connect
responsible and reliable small business concerns, who can meet the
needs of the Laboratory by offering high quality goods or services,
on time, and at a fair and reasonable price with the procurement
specialists at Brookhaven.
The program will strive to enhance the small business community
by supporting recognized superior performers and offering guidance
and support to help grow the small business concerns that meet our

One of ten national laboratories overseen and primarily funded by the Office of
Science of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Brookhaven National Laboratory
conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as
well as in energy technologies and national security. Brookhaven Lab also builds
and operates major scientific facilities available to university, industry and
government researchers. Brookhaven is operated and managed for DOE's Office of
Science by Brookhaven Science Associates, a limited-liability company founded by
the Research Foundation for the State University of New York on behalf of Stony
Brook University, the largest academic user of Laboratory facilities, and Battelle,
a nonprofit, applied science and technology organization.
