Founded in 1971, the aim of the National institute of nuclear and particle physics (IN2P3) of the CNRS is to promote and unify research activities in the fields of nuclear physics, particle and astroparticle physics. It coordinates programmes within these fields on behalf of the CNRS and universities, in partnership with CEA. The Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP) at the Central China Normal University (CCNU) is one of the largest research centers in China focusing on the physics of dense matter at extreme conditions and high-energy heavy-ion collisions. It is currently a member institution of the STAR Collaboration at RHIC and ALICE Collaboration at LHC. It has a large nuclear theory group focusing on phase structure of dense matter, partonic structure of hadrons and nuclei and signals of quark-gluon plasma in heavy-ion collisions. Progress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics (PTEP) is a new international journal that publishes articles on theoretical and experimental physics. PTEP is a fully open access, online-only journal published by the Physical Society of Japan. The journal has been selected as a partner journal for inclusion in the SCOAP agreement, under which high-energy physics papers can be published open access in perpetuity free of charge under an unrestricted CC-BY license.
